Game Overview

Crusade in Europe came out in 1985 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by MicroProse. It was a serious wargame for its time, focused on the Western Front of World War II, and it demanded a lot from players who were used to simpler strategy titles. The game didn't hold your hand; it expected you to understand logistics, terrain, and combined arms tactics right from the start.

You control Allied forces, moving divisions and managing supply lines across a hex-based map of Europe. The main objective is to push through enemy defenses and capture key cities, but it's never just about brute force. You have to carefully manage fuel and ammunition for your units, plan air support and artillery barrages, and always watch your flanks. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, because every move needs to be considered. One wrong decision can leave an entire army stranded and vulnerable. It feels like a tense, methodical puzzle where history is the opponent.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
