Play Cryptic Passage for Blood Online
Still Caleb, still blowing up cultists, but now chasing some god who swiped your scroll. Mineshafts, foggy graveyards—same chaos, fresh layouts.

Cryptic Passage for Blood came out in 1997 as an expansion pack for the MS-DOS game Blood, published by WizardWorks. It was part of that wave of mid-90s shooters where you expected fast action and a dark, gritty atmosphere, all running on the Build engine. The expansion doesn't change the formula; it just gives you more of what made the base game memorable, with new levels and a few extra enemies to keep things interesting.
You control Caleb, a resurrected gunslinger out for revenge, moving through screen after screen of detailed, hazardous environments. Your main goal is to hunt down the god Tchernobog, who has stolen a powerful scroll, by fighting through mineshafts, graveyards, and other sinister locations. Signature mechanics include using a mix of weapons, like the shotgun and dynamite, to clear out cultists and supernatural foes, while solving simple puzzles to progress. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty can be brutal, often demanding quick reflexes and careful ammo management. It feels like a tense, satisfying rampage through a world that wants you dead.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
