Game Overview

Daigasso! Band Brothers is one of those DS games that makes you wonder why it never left Japan. You get this tiny band in your pocket—pick a guitar, keyboard, drums, or even vocals, then tap along to the beat. The song list is wild, from J-pop to classical, and somehow the touchscreen controls don’t feel like a gimmick.

At first, I kept missing notes because I was too busy watching my little bandmates bop around on the top screen. But once you get the hang of it, playing in multiplayer (yes, local wireless actually works) turns into this chaotic, joyful mess where someone always messes up the trumpet solo. It’s the closest thing to a portable jam session the DS ever got.
