Game Overview

Dark Designs I – Grelminar’s Staff is one of those MS-DOS adventures that feels like stumbling into a forgotten dungeon yourself. You start off in some gloomy castle, pixelated torchlight flickering, and within minutes you’re knee-deep in riddles and inventory puzzles. No quest markers, no hints—just you, a stolen staff, and the creeping suspicion that every wrong move might get you jumped by something nasty.

The atmosphere’s thick with that grainy '90s fantasy vibe, somewhere between King’s Quest and a late-night horror flick. I remember getting stuck for ages on a puzzle involving a cursed mirror, and the solution was so absurdly specific it felt like a rite of passage. If you’re into games where you scribble notes on actual paper and celebrate small victories (like finally figuring out how to outsmart a troll), this one’s got your name on it. Just save often—the game has a mean streak.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
