Diego's Build And Rescue came out for the Nintendo DS in 2009, published by 2K Play. It was part of that wave of licensed kids' games that filled the DS library, often based on TV shows like Go, Diego, Go!. The hardware was perfect for these kinds of touchscreen-focused, mission-based adventures aimed at a younger audience.
You control Diego, moving through jungle environments screen by screen. The main goal is to rescue animals by building contraptions; you use the stylus to drag and connect parts into bridges, pulleys, or makeshift helicopters. The physics are loose, so your creations often collapse or spin out of control until you figure out the right structure. It's a trial and error process that feels genuinely satisfying when a wobbly bridge finally holds and you get a baby jaguar across a ravine. The whole experience is built around that simple joy of making something that works, however clumsily.
