Dissidia: Final Fantasy came out on the PlayStation Portable in 2009, developed and published by Square Enix. You control a hero or villain from the mainline games, engaging in one-on-one fights across large, interactive arenas. The main goal is to reduce your opponent's bravery and then land a hit that depletes their actual health bar. Key mechanics include building up bravery through attacks to empower your health-damaging strikes, and executing cinematic super moves called EX Bursts. The pacing is fast and the difficulty can spike, demanding quick reflexes and smart use of your character's unique abilities. It feels like a strategic brawl where every dodge and counter matters.
