Game Overview

Dissidia - Final Fantasy on PSP is a weird, fun twist for the series—instead of turn-based battles, you get full-on 3D arena fights with your favorite heroes and villains. Cloud, Squall, Sephiroth, Kefka—they’re all here, each with their own flashy moves and playstyles. The story’s classic Final Fantasy melodrama (gods at war, crystals to collect), but the real draw is how differently each character handles. Tidus feels like a speedster, while Garland’s all about heavy hits.

You’ll grind through story campaigns for each fighter, unlocking skills and gear along the way. What’s cool is that everything carries over—levels, items, even that overpowered sword you found with Cecil can be passed to another character later. Outside the story, there’s arcade mode for quick fights or just messing around with matchups. And yeah, of course there’s a ton of unlockables, from alternate costumes to secret bosses, all paid for with PP you earn from battles.

It’s chaotic, sometimes janky, but there’s nothing else quite like throwing fireballs as Terra or landing Omnislash in midair. The PSP’s screen makes the action a little cramped, but it’s still a blast.
