Play Dragon Ball Z - Super Butouden Online
Pick Goku or Frieza, charge up those painfully slow Kamehamehas, and try not to get vaporized when the screen fills with pixelated energy blasts. Stiff controls, but the over-the-top DBZ moments make up for it.

Dragon Ball Z: Super Butouden came out on the Super Nintendo in 1993, published by Bandai. It was one of the earlier attempts to bring the anime's explosive fights to a home console, arriving at a time when fighting games were really finding their footing on the system. You could feel the ambition behind it, even if the execution was a bit rough around the edges.
You control one of several characters from the series, like Goku or Vegeta, and face off against another in one-on-one battles. The main objective is to deplete your opponent's health bar before they do the same to you. Signature mechanics include charging up your ki meter by holding buttons to unleash super moves, like a Kamehameha wave, and performing cinematic special attacks that often fill the screen with bright, pixelated energy. The pacing can feel slow, especially when charging, and the controls have a certain stiffness that makes precise movement a challenge. It feels like a direct, if slightly clumsy, translation of the show's most dramatic moments into a playable form.
