Play Dragon Slayer - Eiyuu Densetsu (Japan) (Rev A) (NP) Online
You pick a scrappy party of warriors and mages, then dive into grimy caves where slimes attack in oddly satisfying turn-based skirmishes—just don’t skip NPC dialogue if you want the good loot.

Game Overview
Dragon Slayer - Eiyuu Densetsu is one of those old-school SNES RPGs that feels like it’s hiding way more depth than it lets on at first. You start off with this classic setup—hero, sword, vague prophecy—but the combat’s got this weirdly satisfying rhythm to it. Turns out it’s actually the sixth Dragon Slayer game and the first Legend of Heroes title, which explains why the writing’s a step up from your average '90s dungeon crawler.
First ten minutes? You’re picking your party (I went heavy on warriors because magic felt finicky early on), then immediately thrown into some grimy caves fighting slimes. The sprite work’s surprisingly detailed for a Falcom port, especially the spell effects. Just don’t expect modern QoL stuff—this is very much a "talk to every NPC twice" kind of game. If you’re into retro RPGs with more story than most, it’s a solid time capsule.
