Play Duke Nukem II Online

Duke busts out of alien custody and tears through neon bases with a flamethrower, dodging traps and stealing spaceships when he runs out of bullets. That cloak never lasts, but damn does it feel good to vanish mid-gunfight.

Game Overview

Duke Nukem II came out in 1993 for MS-DOS, developed by Apogee Software. It was a side-scrolling action game from an era when shareware titles often delivered more personality and challenge than many full retail releases. You played as Duke, a muscle-bound hero out for revenge, moving through levels that mixed industrial corridors with alien landscapes.

You control Duke directly, running, jumping, and shooting through a series of interconnected levels. The main goal is to defeat enemies, find keys to open doors, and ultimately reach the exit. Signature mechanics include collecting various weapons like the flamethrower and seeking out jetpacks for temporary flight; the game also features hidden areas and destructible sections of the environment. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially in later stages. It feels fast, chaotic, and deeply satisfying when you clear a screen full of enemies without taking a hit.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
