Game Overview

Duke!ZONE II came out in 1996 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by WizardWorks. It was a time when shareware shooters were everywhere, and this one fit right in, offering a familiar but frantic take on the top-down action genre. It didn't try to rewrite the rules, just gave players another fast-paced world to blast through.

You control a small character from an overhead view, moving through maze-like levels packed with enemies. Your main goal is simply to survive each stage, clearing out foes while hunting for keys to open doors and progress. The game relies on screen-by-screen exploration, with each new area locking you in until all hostiles are eliminated. Combat is straightforward; you shoot in the direction you're facing, picking up better weapons like spread guns or flamethrowers to handle the increasing swarms. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty spikes quickly, leaving little room for error. It feels like a tense, chaotic scramble from start to finish.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
