Feel the Magic: XY/XX came out for the Nintendo DS in 2004, developed by Sonic Team. It was one of those early DS titles that really leaned into the hardware's quirks, like the touchscreen and microphone, at a time when people were still figuring out what the system could do.

You control a member of the Rub Rabbits, performing a series of bizarre mini-games to win the affection of a girl. The objectives change constantly; one moment you're blowing into the mic to inflate a life preserver, the next you're frantically rubbing the screen to dry her off or tapping buttons to catch falling objects. The pace is fast and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, but it all adds to the absurd charm. Playing it feels like being part of a strange, interactive cartoon where nothing makes sense but everything is weirdly compelling.
