Fountain of Dreams came out in 1990 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series from Electronic Arts. It was one of those early PC RPGs that tried to build a world with more story and interaction than many of its peers, fitting right into the era when developers were pushing what adventure games could do on home computers.

You control a party of adventurers exploring a post-apocalyptic Florida, moving screen by screen through hazardous environments. Your main goal is to locate the mythical fountain while managing scarce resources like clean water and ammunition. Combat is turn-based, letting you carefully choose attacks or use items, and you’ll frequently encounter factions like cultists or mutants that can be fought or sometimes negotiated with. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty comes from survival mechanics and unpredictable encounters. It feels tense and immersive, like every decision could lead your group a little closer to salvation or a messy end.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
