Play Gangster Town Online

Duck behind cars while blasting mobsters, then clear out seedy bars—your Light Phaser never cools off, even when the game insists you missed that obvious shot. The cheesy action flick vibe holds up, especially when you’re smashing bricks for keys between shootouts.

Game Overview

Gangster Town is one of those early light gun games where you actually feel like you're in a cheesy action movie. You start off blasting mobsters from a speeding car—half the challenge is not accidentally shooting innocent bystanders while the screen scrolls. Then it shifts to on-foot sections where thugs pop out of alleys or behind bar counters, and you've got to react fast.

The Light Phaser works surprisingly well here, though sometimes you swear you hit that guy in the pinstripe suit and the game disagrees. Between shootouts, there are these weird but fun bonus rounds, like smashing bricks to find a hidden key. It's short, but for a Master System game, it nails that arcade-style "just one more try" energy.
