Game Overview

Global Conquest was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a release that bundled several older titles for a new audience. It was developed by MicroProse, a company well known for its strategy and simulation games during the DOS era. The game fits squarely into that period's interest in turn-based strategy, offering a methodical, cerebral challenge rather than fast-paced action.

You control a global superpower, managing military units, cities, and resources across a world map divided into territories. The main objective is to conquer all rival nations through economic pressure, technological advancement, and outright warfare. Key mechanics include deploying units like tanks and bombers to capture neutral or enemy lands, researching new technologies to gain tactical advantages, and managing your treasury to avoid bankruptcy. The pacing is deliberate, with each turn requiring careful planning, and the difficulty can be steep as opponents aggressively expand and sabotage your efforts. It feels like a tense, high-stakes chess match played across the entire planet.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
