Stellar Conquest 3 - Hostile Takeover is one of those old MS-DOS games that somehow still feels fresh if you love deep strategy. You start with a single planet and a handful of ships, and suddenly you're juggling colony expansions, tech research, and fleet movements—all while the AI factions plot against you like they take it personally.

The diplomacy here is brutal. One minute you're trading resources with the Zorathians, the next they're blockading your homeworld. I learned the hard way that building too many battleships early leaves your economy in shambles, and those mining outposts? Way more important than they look.

It’s got that classic 4X feel where you blink and three hours vanish. The retro graphics won’t win awards today, but there’s something satisfying about watching your little pixel fleets overwhelm an enemy system. Just don’t expect mercy from the AI—it plays to win.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
