Game Overview

Gods Eater Burst is one of those PSP games that somehow flew under the radar but absolutely shouldn’t have. You’re part of this ragtag squad fighting Aragami—monsters that look like they were designed by someone who couldn’t decide between "beautiful" and "terrifying." Your weapon, the God Arc, is basically three tools in one: sword for slashing, gun for blasting, and this gnarly predator mode that lets you literally bite chunks out of enemies to steal their powers. Feels ridiculous at first, but you’ll be switching forms mid-combo before long.

The missions start simple—hunt, gather, survive—but then the story hits you with twists that make you question who the real monsters are. And yeah, the cutscenes are fully voiced, which was a big deal for a PSP game back then. The real fun kicks in when you team up with friends in co-op (up to 4 players) and take down some of the crazier Aragami together. Just watch out for the nymph-types—they move like something out of a nightmare.

Customization’s where it shines, though. Tweaking your sword’s reach, fiddling with bullet trajectories, or stacking resistances on your shield makes every hunt feel personal. Some of the later bosses will wreck you if you don’t prep right. It’s got that Monster Hunter vibe but with a faster pace and a story that actually pulls you in. Still holds up surprisingly well if you dust off your PSP.
