Play HeroQuest Online
You pick a hero, creep through torch-lit dungeons rolling dice in combat, and pray you don’t step on a trap while looting—die once and it’s back to the tavern with empty pockets. The wizard’s fireballs feel great until you run out of spells and the barbarian has to bail you out.

HeroQuest came out in 1991 for MS-DOS, developed by Gremlin Graphics Software Limited. It was one of those early PC dungeon crawlers that felt like a direct translation of a board game, which it actually was. You moved through grid-based rooms, fought monsters, and searched for treasure, all with that particular early 90s charm and simplicity.
You control a party of four heroes: a barbarian, an elf, a dwarf, and a wizard. Your goal is to complete quests by exploring dungeons room by room, defeating enemies in turn-based combat, and gathering gold and equipment. Key mechanics include using different weapons and magic, searching for hidden doors and traps, and managing your limited resources. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty can be punishing if you rush in unprepared. It feels tense and methodical, every door opened or corner turned carrying the risk of ambush or disaster.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
