Game Overview

Horror Zombies from the Crypt is this weirdly charming MS-DOS platformer from 1990 where you play as Count Frederick Valdemar—basically a vampire with a mission. The whole thing feels like someone mashed up a bunch of old horror movie tropes and threw them into a pixelated mansion crawl.

You’re jumping through six levels packed with zombies, mummies, and grim reapers that all want to stop you from collecting skulls (because of course you need skulls). The controls are stiff in that classic early '90s way, but there’s something satisfying about figuring out the timing for jumps while a vampire slowly floats toward you. The intro screens before each level give you just enough story to make it feel like a cheesy B-movie, which is honestly half the fun.

It’s not the smoothest game out there, but if you’re into janky retro horror vibes, this one’s a trip.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
