How to Train Your Dragon on the DS is basically like having a tiny dragon academy in your pocket. You start off as a rookie trainer—pick your dragon (I went with the classic Night Fury first, obviously), and then it’s all about feeding them, teaching them tricks, and getting them battle-ready. The controls are simple, but timing your moves in fights actually takes some practice—my first few aerial battles were… messy.

The world’s split into different zones with little missions, and the dragon designs are surprisingly detailed for a DS game. Sometimes the flying feels a bit stiff, but once you get the hang of it, pulling off combos mid-air is pretty satisfying. Just don’t expect it to be super deep—it’s more of a fun, bite-sized version of the movie’s vibe.
