Ever wanted to train your own dragon like Hiccup? This DS game lets you do just that—with way more firepower than the movie shows. You start by picking a dragon (I went with a Night Fury first, obviously) and then dive into customizing everything from its scales to how it breathes fire. There’s something weirdly satisfying about tweaking the little details, like wing patterns or battle scars.

Adventure mode has you flying around Berk, doing missions and unlocking new gear, but the real fun is in Arena Mode. That’s where your dragon’s training pays off—dodging ice blasts, chaining attacks, and occasionally faceplanting into cliffs because you misjudged a turn. The multiplayer battles get chaotic fast, especially when you and a friend both bring fully leveled-up dragons. Just don’t blame me when your Monstrous Nightmare gets roasted by a tiny Terrible Terror.

It’s not the deepest RPG out there, but for a movie tie-in, it actually lets you feel like a dragon trainer instead of just pressing buttons through cutscenes. The controls take a minute to get used to, but once you do, pulling off mid-air flips while blasting fireballs never gets old.
