Game Overview

ICON - The Quest for the Ring is one of those MS-DOS games that feels like it was dug up from a time capsule—in the best way. You start off in this grimy little dungeon, sword in hand, and within minutes you're knee-deep in skeletons, fire traps, and treasure chests that might just try to eat you. The controls take a second to get used to (because '90s PC games loved their awkward keybindings), but once it clicks, there's something weirdly satisfying about the way your little pixel hero swings a sword.

It's got that classic top-down dungeon crawl vibe—think Zelda if it were made by someone who really loved throwing unfair surprises at you. The levels are packed with secrets, and half the fun is poking at suspicious walls or stepping on random floor tiles just to see what happens. And yeah, it's tough—like, "throw-your-keyboard" tough sometimes—but in that way where you keep coming back because you know you can do better next time. If you've got a DOS emulator and a soft spot for janky old adventures, this one's a blast. Just save often. Trust me.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
