Play Illusion of Time (France) Online
You swing a magic flute through haunted castles and crumbling ruins, unraveling a comet’s mystery while NPCs drop eerie hints if you bother to listen twice.

Game Overview
Illusion of Time (or Illusion of Gaia, depending on where you played it) is one of those SNES RPGs that sticks with you. You play as Will, a kid with weird psychic powers, traveling through ancient ruins and haunted castles to stop a comet from wrecking the planet. The combat’s simple but satisfying—you mostly whack stuff with a flute-turned-weapon—but what really got me were the locations. There’s this creepy vampire castle early on that feels straight out of a gothic horror novel, and later you’re dodging traps in a pyramid. The story’s darker than it looks, too, with some surprisingly heavy moments about sacrifice. Definitely not your typical "save the princess" SNES adventure.
Also, pro tip: Talk to every NPC twice. Some of the best writing is hidden in those second conversations.
