Play Illusion of Time (Spain) Online
You play as Will, swinging a magic flute through eerie ruins and forgotten towns, unraveling a world that feels ancient before you even arrived. The music and mood stick with you long after the SNES powers down.

Game Overview
Illusion of Time (or Illusion of Gaia if you're not in Spain) is one of those SNES RPGs that sticks with you. You play as Will, a quiet kid with weird psychic powers, traveling through ancient ruins and haunted towns to stop a comet from wrecking the planet. The combat's simple but satisfying—you mostly whack stuff with a flute-turned-magic-weapon, which sounds ridiculous until you're chain-killing bats in a pyramid.
What really got me was the atmosphere. Every location feels heavy with history, like the game's world existed long before you showed up. There's this one village where the houses are built into giant trees, and the music just nails that mix of wonder and melancholy. Some of the puzzles are frustrating (looking at you, vampire castle block-pushing), but the story goes to surprisingly dark places for a 16-bit game.
It's not perfect, but it's the kind of RPG where you remember specific rooms years later.
