Illusion of Time came out in 1993 for the Super Nintendo, developed by Quintet. You control a boy named Jerrod, exploring a world shattered by a meteor. Your main goal is to travel across continents and through time to restore the planet. You'll use a flute as both a weapon and a tool to interact with the environment, and you collect magical rings that let you transform into different forms, like a floating ghost or a fast-moving fish, to access new areas and solve environmental puzzles. The pacing is deliberate, with exploration and discovery taking priority over constant combat, and some of the later puzzles can be quite challenging. It feels like piecing together a forgotten myth, where every new screen holds a small, quiet revelation.
