Game Overview

Jack Nicklaus' Unlimited Golf & Course Design came out in 1996 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, published by Accolade. It was a solid golf simulation for its time, offering a mix of on-course play and a surprisingly deep design tool, all running on the hardware people had in the mid-90s.

You control a golfer from a third-person perspective, aiming to complete 18 holes with the lowest score. The main mechanics involve setting up your shot by choosing a club and adjusting for wind, then timing a three-click power meter for swing accuracy. The course designer lets you place every tree, bunker, and water hazard, tweaking the terrain to create entirely new layouts. The game can be unforgiving if your timing is off, but sinking a long putt or finally finishing a custom course feels genuinely rewarding. It captures the slow, thoughtful pace of real golf, with just enough frustration to keep you coming back.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
