You control either Joe or Mac, two cavemen on a mission to rescue their kidnapped tribe members. The game progresses screen by screen, with you fighting off dinosaurs and other primitive enemies using weapons like bones, boomerangs, and fire wheels. You collect food and power-ups to boost your health and attacks, and the levels are filled with vertical climbs, hidden areas, and occasional vehicle sections, like riding a T-Rex. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can spike in later stages, but the two-player mode makes it more manageable.
