Joe & Mac on the Sega Genesis is one of those weirdly charming platformers where you play as two cavemen who somehow fight like ninjas. You’re jumping over lava pits, clubbing dinosaurs, and rescuing cavewomen—because of course that’s a thing. The levels are bright and chaotic, with these little details like bouncing on pterodactyls or riding stone wheels downhill that make it feel more fun than it has any right to be.

It’s not the deepest game, but there’s something about the absurd energy that keeps it entertaining. Just don’t expect the cave babes to be anything more than pixelated damsels in distress. It’s very much a product of its time.
