I remember picking up Joe & Mac on the Game Boy back in 1992, published by Elite Systems. It was a time when platformers were everywhere, and this one stood out with its caveman theme. You didn't see many games where you fought dinosaurs with a club instead of a laser gun.

You control either Joe or Mac, two cavemen on a mission to rescue their kidnapped girlfriends from a rival tribe. The game plays out screen by screen, with you jumping across platforms and clubbing dinosaurs and other prehistoric enemies. You can pick up better weapons like boomerangs and stone wheels, and even ride a pterodactyl in some sections. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can be pretty unforgiving, especially with the limited continues. It feels chaotic and silly in the best way, like a Saturday morning cartoon you can actually play.
