Game Overview

Jump Jet is one of those old-school MS-DOS flight sims that actually makes you work for it. You're flying a Harrier—that weird, jumpy jet that can hover like a helicopter—and nothing about it feels forgiving. The first time I tried to land vertically, I pancaked into the runway so hard I’m pretty sure the virtual pilot needed a new spine.

What’s cool is how the game throws you into these "what if?" Cold War scenarios—Hong Kong going sideways, another Falklands dust-up—where you’re juggling fuel, weapons, and that finicky VTOL system. The AI doesn’t just sit there either; enemies adapt, missions shift, and suddenly that simple patrol turns into a frantic dogfight over some fjord.

It’s got that janky ’90s sim vibe where half the fun is wrestling with the controls until it clicks. Once you stop crashing into buildings, though, pulling off a perfect hover between skyscrapers feels ridiculously satisfying.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
