Game Overview

I first played Ken's Labyrinth back in the mid-90s, a shareware title from 1993 developed by Ken Silverman and published by Epic MegaGames. It was part of that wave of early first-person shooters on MS-DOS, a time when every new game felt like an experiment in what 3D could be. It didn't have the polish of its bigger contemporaries, but it had a strange, homemade charm that made it stand out.

You control a character navigating a maze of blocky, textured corridors from a first-person perspective. The goal is straightforward: find the exit on each level. You fight off strange enemies, like bouncing blobs and flying skulls, using a bow and arrow or a sword. The exploration is screen by screen, and you often have to hunt for keys or push walls to reveal hidden passages. The pacing is methodical, almost puzzley at times, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly. Playing it feels like exploring a strange, slightly unhinged world built by a very clever friend in their basement.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
