King & Balloon is this weirdly charming arcade game where you’re basically a medieval bodyguard with a crossbow. Your job? Stop a bunch of goofy hot-air balloons from kidnapping the king. Sounds simple, but those balloons come in waves, and they’re relentless.
The king just floats there, helpless, and if a balloon grabs him, he yells "Help!" in this panicky voice—it’s equal parts funny and stressful. Miss too many, and he gets carried off with a sad little "Bye, bye." You’ve got to clear all 42 balloons to finish a round, and trust me, it gets chaotic fast.
It’s one of those games where the absurd premise somehow makes it more fun. The controls are simple, but timing your shots just right is the real challenge.
