Okay, so King of Fighters 2000 is that classic Neo Geo fighter where you pick a team of three and just go wild. No fancy cutscenes getting in the way—just pick your squad and start throwing fireballs. The roster’s stacked with SNK’s usual suspects, like Kyo, Iori, and Terry, plus some wildcards. I always end up with Mai because, well, flames and fans—what’s not to love?

Matches get chaotic fast, especially with strikers (basically backup fighters who jump in for a quick assist). Timing those right feels so good—like when you’re about to eat a super move and your striker interrupts at the last second. The pixel art still holds up, too—those super move animations are ridiculous in the best way.

It’s tough as nails if you’re new, but once you get the rhythm down, pulling off combos feels smooth. And yeah, you’ll probably lose a few rounds before figuring out which team actually works for you. I thought going full grapplers was smart… until I got zoned into oblivion.

If you’re into old-school fighters where reflexes matter more than tutorials, this one’s a blast. Just don’t blame me when you lose an hour to rematches.
