Play Last Ninja, The Online

You're a ninja fighting through swarms of guards with clunky but oddly satisfying controls—landing a perfect shuriken throw makes up for all the cheap deaths. That isometric view keeps every jump feeling risky.

Game Overview

So Last Ninja on the NES—yeah, the one with the janky controls everyone complains about. You’re this lone ninja sneaking through enemy strongholds, swinging your sword at guards who just love to swarm you. The isometric view makes jumping between platforms weirdly tense, like you’re never quite sure if you’ll stick the landing. And those puzzles? Half the time I was just mashing buttons hoping a hidden door would open.

It’s got this weird charm, though. The music slaps, and once you stop fighting the controls (or just accept you’ll die a lot), there’s something satisfying about clearing a room full of enemies with a perfectly timed shuriken throw. Just don’t expect it to play fair.
