Play Lion King III Online

Swing as Simba through pixelated savannas, dodging hyenas and nailing those vine jumps—just don’t get too cocky, because that stampede level’s brutal.

Game Overview

I picked up Lion King III on Game Boy Color back when it came out. It was developed by Dark Technologies and published by THQ, fitting right in with the platformers that were common on the system. The game didn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it had a certain charm that made it stand out among other handheld titles of the time.

You control Simba through a series of side scrolling levels, navigating platforms, avoiding enemies like hyenas and vultures, and making careful jumps across gaps. The main goal is to progress through each stage, eventually facing off against Scar. Signature mechanics include using a roar to stun nearby enemies and swinging on vines to cross larger distances. The pacing is fairly quick, though some sections demand precise timing, especially during the wildebeest stampede. It feels satisfying to land those swings and maneuvers without falling.
