Play Lord Avalot Online

You play as a bumbling nobleman stuck rescuing a princess, typing weird commands like "kick goat" while villagers roast you—half the fun is seeing what the game actually understands. The parser fights you, but the dry Welsh humor makes it worth the struggle.

Game Overview

Lord Avalot is one of those weird, charming MS-DOS adventures where you type commands like "eat turnip" or "insult baron" and hope the game understands you. You play as this hilariously incompetent nobleman who gets stuck rescuing a princess because the actual competent knight is busy—classic. The whole thing’s set in medieval Wales, and the humor’s dry as old bread, but in a good way. Expect a lot of trial and error with the parser, but the writing makes it worth it.

First thing you’ll notice? The art’s janky in that early '90s pixel way, but it’s got personality. You’ll poke around the island, get into stupid arguments with villagers, and probably die a few times because you forgot to "use" something obvious. It’s the kind of game where you’ll scribble notes like "remember to steal the herring later." If you’re into quirky retro adventures, this one’s a gem.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
