I first played The Lost Vikings on the Sega Genesis back in 1993, a game developed by Silicon & Synapse, who later became Blizzard. It stood out on the platform for its puzzle oriented design, a contrast to the many action and platforming titles of the era.

You control three Vikings, Erik, Baleog, and Olaf, each with a unique ability; Erik runs and jumps, Baleog attacks enemies with his sword and bow, and Olaf blocks projectiles and creates platforms with his shield. The main objective is to guide all three characters to the exit in each screen based level, using their skills in combination. The game requires careful planning and constant switching between characters to solve environmental puzzles and avoid hazards.
