Play Lost Vikings, The Online

You juggle three Vikings with wildly different skills—leap gaps with Erik, slash enemies as Baleog, and block arrows with Olaf’s shield while they all crack dumb jokes. Puzzles get devious when you have to split them up and reunite them later.

Game Overview

Norse by Norse West is that rare sequel that actually improves on the original Lost Vikings formula. You're still controlling three goofy Norse warriors—Erik the agile, Baleog the fighter, and Olaf the shield guy—but now they've got a few extra tricks up their sleeves. Erik can double jump (finally!), Baleog swings his sword with more purpose, and Olaf... well, he still mostly blocks stuff with his shield, but hey, it works.

The puzzles get surprisingly clever—you'll find yourself switching between characters constantly, using their abilities in ways that feel clever when you figure them out. Some sections even split the party, forcing you to think ahead about how their paths will cross later. The humor's still there too, with the same ridiculous dialogue that made the first game so charming.

It's one of those SNES puzzle-platformers that holds up way better than it has any right to. Just don't be surprised when you get stuck on some of the later levels—they don't mess around.
