Game Overview

Lunar Ball is one of those weird little NES games that makes you go, "Wait, why didn't we get this in the West?" It's basically Breakout in space—except instead of a boring old paddle, you're ricocheting a tiny moon between planets and UFOs. The gravity physics feel just slightly off in that perfect 8-bit way, so sometimes the ball curves when you least expect it.

The whole thing has this charmingly janky Japanese aesthetic—bright neon blocks, chiptune bleeps that sound like a robot coughing, and these oddly satisfying screen shakes when you clear a stage. I lost about twenty minutes immediately because the "one more try" pull is real, especially when you're one hit away from beating a level and suddenly your moon goes rogue.

It's not deep, but there's something hypnotic about the simplicity. If you've ever wasted an afternoon on Arkanoid, this is like its caffeine-addicted cousin.
