MegaMan ZX Advent is one of those DS games that makes you wish the 3DS had kept the dual-screen setup. You pick either Grey or Ashe—I went with Ashe first because she’s got this slick energy blade thing going on—and then it’s all running, jumping, and blasting through these neon-drenched levels that feel like someone remixed classic MegaMan with cyberpunk vibes.
The coolest part? You don’t just get new weapons—you straight-up absorb boss abilities and turn into them. One minute you’re dodging fireballs, the next you’re the one shooting them. The touchscreen handles menus and map stuff, but the real magic happens with the D-pad and face buttons. It’s got that old-school “die and retry” energy, but with just enough modern tweaks to keep you from rage-quitting.
If you’ve ever lost hours to a MegaMan game before, this one’s got that same addictive “one more try” pull. Just maybe keep a stylus handy for some of the trickier transformations.
