Mobile Suit Gundam EX Revue is basically Street Fighter with giant robots—but way cooler if you're into the original 1979 series. You pick from 12 mobile suits (Gundam, Zakus, Goufs, all the classics) and duke it out in arenas ripped straight from the show. The Dom feels sluggish but hits like a truck, while Char’s red Zaku is stupidly fast—just like in the anime.

Single-player mode throws 14 fights at you, including two secret bosses that look like they wandered in from a different game. The controls take some getting used to—half the special moves need that quarter-circle joystick flick, and good luck landing a clean throw when you’re panicking. But nailing a beam rifle combo with the Gundam? Pure satisfaction.

They tweaked the roster from the first game, swapping out Sayla’s Gundam for the chunkier Guncannon and adding weirdos like the Acguy (which, honestly, fights like someone shoved a balloon animal into a mech). The stages got visual upgrades too—some are brand new, others just less pixelated. If you’ve got a buddy, two-player matches get chaotic fast, especially when you both pick Zakus and start spamming heat hawks.

It’s janky in that late-90s arcade way, but the sheer fan service makes up for it. You’ll know within three matches whether this is your kind of nostalgia trip.
