Mordred Manor came out as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though I don't recall the original developer or publisher offhand. It fits right in with that era of PC gaming, where you expected a certain amount of pixel hunting and trial and error just to get through the front door.
You control an investigator exploring a haunted estate, room by room, looking for keys and items to unlock new areas. The main goal is to uncover the manor's dark secret and escape alive. You'll fight off ghosts and other creatures with a limited supply of holy water, solve environmental puzzles that require careful observation, and manage your inventory to avoid getting stuck. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, and the difficulty can be punishing if you miss a crucial clue early on. It feels like a tense, methodical crawl through a place that really doesn't want you there.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
