Oh man, Mortal Kombat II on the SNES? This is where the blood really started pumping! The sequel to the original bone-crushing hit took everything up a notch—more fighters, more fatalities, and way more attitude. Whether you were ripping spines out as Sub-Zero or laughing maniacally with Jax’s arm-clap fatality, this game was the reason your parents regretted buying you a Super Nintendo.
Sure, the SNES version had to tone down the gore (thanks, Nintendo’s censorship), but the gameplay was still lightning-fast, the roster was stacked with classics like Scorpion and Baraka, and the secret battles (looking at you, Smoke) kept us glued to the screen for hours. Even without the arcade-perfect graphics, this port nailed the chaotic fun that made MKII a legend. Still one of the best fighting games of the ‘90s—no argument accepted.
