Game Overview

I first played Mysterious Worlds back in the early 90s, after picking it up from a bargain bin. It was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series released in 1992, though I never did learn who exactly made it. At the time, it was just one of many side-scrolling platformers vying for attention, but something about its strange atmosphere kept me coming back.

You control a small, agile explorer who moves screen by screen through a mix of caverns and ruins. The goal is to collect a set of ancient keys scattered across each level, all while avoiding enemies like floating eyeballs and bouncing slimes. The jumping feels a bit slippery, and the hit detection isn't always forgiving, which gives the game a steady, deliberate pace. It's the kind of experience where patience matters more than reflexes, and each new screen brings a mix of tension and curiosity.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
