Tetris Worlds came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, published by THQ. It was one of the many versions of Tetris available on the system, arriving at a time when puzzle games were a natural fit for handheld play. This release tried to expand on the familiar formula with a few new ideas, though it kept the core intact.

You control the falling tetrominoes, rotating and shifting them to form solid lines that vanish from the playfield. The main goal is to survive as long as possible by clearing lines and preventing the stack from reaching the top. Signature mechanics include Fusion mode, where cleared lines sometimes stick together and detonate later for bigger chain reactions, and Hotline mode, which challenges you to clear blocks specifically on marked rows. The pacing starts gentle but can escalate quickly depending on the mode you choose. It feels crisp and responsive, especially with the GBA's controls, making even high-speed drops manageable with focus.
