I picked up Tetris Worlds for my Game Boy Advance back in 2002, a THQ release that came out when the handheld was really hitting its stride. It was one of those games that felt familiar but tried to do something a little different with the formula, fitting right in with the era's mix of classic ports and experimental spins.

You control the falling tetrominoes, rotating and sliding them to clear lines as always, but the main objective shifts across several themed worlds, each introducing a new rule. Signature mechanics include Sticky mode, where blocks cling together until a line clears them, and Hotline mode, which requires you to drop pieces onto specific flashing rows. The pacing varies; some modes are relaxed, while others, like the timed Fusion mode, ramp up the pressure significantly. It feels like solving a series of quick, satisfying puzzles with a familiar rhythm.
