I first played Tetris Classic on MS-DOS back in the 90s, part of the Classic Games series released by Spectrum Holobyte in 1992. It was one of those games that felt right at home on a beige desktop computer, running smoothly even on modest hardware of the time. The graphics were simple, the colors bright, and it didn’t try to be anything more than a clean, functional version of the puzzle game so many already loved.

You control the falling tetrominoes, rotating and shifting them to form solid horizontal lines. The main goal is to clear as many lines as possible before the blocks pile up to the top. Key mechanics include the ability to store a piece for later use and the satisfying moment when multiple lines vanish at once. The pace starts slow but steadily increases, demanding quicker decisions as the blocks drop faster. Playing it feels like a race against your own reflexes, a quiet test of focus that’s hard to walk away from.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
