Play Tetris DX Online
Blocks drop faster than you can think, your fingers fumbling to flip and slot them before the screen fills. That little "line clear" chime never gets old, even when you're in way over your head.
I picked up Tetris DX for the Game Boy Color back in 1998, a Nintendo release that felt like a natural upgrade for the handheld. It was one of those games that just made sense on the platform, a clean and colorful version of a puzzle classic that fit right into the era of pocket gaming.
You control the falling tetrominoes, rotating and shifting them to form solid horizontal lines. The main goal is to prevent the stack from reaching the top of the screen by clearing rows, which vanish and give you room to keep playing. Signature mechanics include holding a piece in reserve for later use and the satisfying chain reaction of clearing multiple lines at once. The pace starts slow but steadily increases, demanding quicker decisions as the blocks drop faster. It feels like a constant race against your own reflexes, a tense but focused kind of fun.
