I picked up Tetris Worlds for the Game Boy Advance back in 2002, a version published by THQ. It was a solid entry in the portable Tetris library during a time when the GBA was full of puzzle games trying to stand out. This one didn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it offered a clean, reliable way to play on the go.

You control the falling tetrominoes, rotating and sliding them to form solid horizontal lines. The main goal is to clear lines to prevent the stack from reaching the top of the playfield. A couple of its signature mechanics include the new "Square" mode, which challenges you to build a perfect 4x4 square for bonus points, and the "Cascade" mode where cleared lines cause blocks above to tumble down, potentially setting off chain reactions. The pacing starts deceptively simple but ramps up steadily, demanding quicker decisions as the blocks fall faster. It feels satisfying to find a rhythm and build a strategy that keeps the screen clear for just a little bit longer.
