Crawl through Vietnam's jungles in '66—every step could be a mine, every bush hides a sniper. Call in airstrikes when it all goes wrong, then try not to get shot by your own guys.

NAM was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection released in 1998 by GT Interactive Software Corp. It belongs to that era of PC gaming where top-down shooters and straightforward action titles were common, offering a direct, unembellished take on its subject matter without much cinematic flair.
You control a lone soldier navigating dense jungle terrain, clearing areas of enemy combatants one screen at a time. Your main objective is to survive each stage, using an assortment of period weapons like the M16 and M60, while calling in occasional airstrikes for heavy support. The game is methodical; you advance cautiously, check corners for ambushes, and manage limited ammunition. The difficulty is persistent, with enemies often concealed in foliage or behind structures, demanding careful movement and quick reflexes. It feels tense and unpredictable, capturing the uncertainty of moving through hostile territory with minimal guidance.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
